Hello and hi, I'm Prophet. My legal name means "prophet of the light", and sometimes God speaks to me through the buzzing of flies' wings, so it seems like a fitting moniker.
I'm a cosmic anomaly studying religion and social work, with the aim of working in hospice as a death doula, or doing macro-level policy work for reform of the current psychiatric system. I'm full of love and rage and grief, which are all sort of the same thing.
I have an ongoing love affair with the universe, and several debilitating chronic illnesses. I also self-identify as Mad, and am aligned with the mad pride movement. I'm queer as in gay, but also queer as in strange, peculiar, odd, and eccentric. I've had kind of an intense and unusual life and I write about that sometimes. Mostly I write about horror and monsters and the fair folk and death and love and trauma and prophecy and God.
here are some testimonials from people who know me in the flesh world (as opposed to the cyber world)
"I refuse to believe you're a real person. Everything about you is too bizarre and specifically themed for you to actually exist in real life. You're like the protagonist of an anime about the supernatural." -my best friend, within a week of meeting me
"Whenever I talk to you I have weird fae-touched dreams. Clearly the only explanation is that you are a changeling." -someone I met at a protest and became friends with after I helped them run away from home
"You and Joan of Arc are both just the same bitch, to be honest" -my other best friend
